1.Warm- up: Check-up (5’)

*Aims: to help ss remember the words that they have learn in lesson 1.

*Procedure:

- Greet the class and introduce yourself, saying Hi, I’m____

- Ask ss to look at the picture in Lesson 1 and say the sound of the letter C/c and four words car, cat, cake and cup.

- Get ss to open their books and look at Lesson 2.

2. Practice: (17’)

Activity 1. Listen and chant

*Aims: Ss will be able to say the sound of the letter C/c and the words car, cat, cake and cup in a chant

*Procedure:

- Have ss look at the chant and ask them to pay attention to the letter C/c and the word cup.

- Play the digital audio recording of the first line using the laptop and projector for Ss to listen and get familiarized with the tune. (2.1.CB1a).

- Play the recording again, ask ss to listen and repeat the first line. Then play the recording for them to listen and repeat until they feel confident.

- Follow the same procedure with the other lines. Show ss how to chant and clap their hands.

- Play the recording all the way through. Ask ss to listen and repeat the chant individually and in chorus.

- Invite a pupil to come to the board and tap on the digital play icon on the projector screen to replay the chant for the class. (2.1.CB1a).

- If they sing the chant well, praise them, saying Well done! or Very good.

Activity 2. Listen and tick:

*Aims: Ss will be able to listen, recognize the words and tick the correct boxes.

*Procedure:

- Have ss look at the first two pictures and say what they can see. Check comprehension.

- Encourage some ss to point to the pictures and say the words in front of the class

+ Play the digital recording of the first sentence on the laptop and guide students to observe the digital images on the screen. (1.1.CB1a)

+ Point to the tick √ and ask ss, saying What do you see? You see a tick?

+ After you hear the recording, say “a cat” and you tick the box a, you give the right answer. So a is the correct answer.

- Ask ss to look at the last two pictures and listen.

- Ask ss to say what they have heard and ticked.

3. Production: (8’)

Activity 3. Look and trace:

*Aims: Ss will be able to trace the letter C/c (upper case and lower case).

*Procedure:

- Have ss look at the letter C (upper case) and c (lower case).

- Write the upper case C and the lower case c in broken lines on the board.

- Check to make sure ss understand the letters written in solid lines and those in broken lines.

- Tell ss to trace the letter C/c.

- Check the results of ss’ tracing and give feedback.

- Ask some ss to show what they have done. Praise them if they have done well, saying Well done! or You’ve done a good job!

- If there is enough time, write the letter C/c in broken lines on the board and invite some ss to trace them.

4. Fun corner and wrap- up: (5’)

Game: Pass the ball!

- Divide the class into 3 teams.

- Each team has 1 sticky ball.

- Play the music, pupils in each team take turns passing the ball. When the music ends,

3 pupils holding the ball stand up and say the words have the sound C/c

- Ss say the letter and the sound.

-Ss open their books.

-Ss listen.

- Ss to listen and get familiarized with the tune using the laptop. (2.1.CB1a).
