- T divides the class into 2 teams.

- T shows 9 different pictures

- Students are shown different pictures and they need to take the first letter from each picture to form the mystery word.

- T leads to the new unit. Write the unit title Teenagers on the board. Ask Ss to guess what they are going to learn about in this unit.

c. Expected outcomes: Knowing more new words. Students know the topic of the unit and be ready for the conversation.

* Teach vocabulary:

+ Teacher uses different techniques to teach vocab (situation, realia, translation.)

+ Teacher introduces the vocabulary by:

- providing the pictures

- eliciting the definition of the words

+ Teacher do the “Rub out and remember” checking technique.

- Teacher reveals that these six words will appear in the reading text and asks students to open their textbooks to discover further.

Set the context: Have Ss look at the conversation and the picture and answer some questions: Who are the people?

- What might they be talking about?

- Play the recording twice for Ss to listen and read along. Then invite some pairs of Ss to read the conversation aloud.

- Refer to the questions previously asked. Confirm the correct answers: They are teacher and students. They are in a class meeting. They are discussing their class forum, club activities to participate in, and their problems.

- To help Ss understand the main idea of the conversation, askSs to answer the question: What are the teacher and students discussing?

- Make sure they pronounce the words correctly.
